About Fábio
F ábio is a self-taught filmmaker and photographer. He started his career in 2009 as a visual effects artist on a feature film for Richardson Productions. He then took interest in all things moviemaking, trying to learn as much as possible about every department while giving a special emphasis on directing, producing and cinematography. He's the founder and director of the Ocean Coast Film Festival in Lavra, Portugal.
- Hello! My name is Fábio Santos and I would like to welcome you to my website! Since I was little I always loved to create, to make something out of nothing. I learned how to cook when I was 9 and I always try to use that artform in new, creative ways. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and voilà. I find that filmmaking is very similar to cooking in that regard so when I first discovered cinema and the whole process behind it I instanly fell in love. With the rise of digital sensors, it was possible to start making movies with very limited resources and going to LA was no longer mandatory. It was possible to do it in any part of the globe. From VFX, to directing, to sound editing/mixing, I've worked on a little bit of everything on what is still a young career.
